How to download and analyze your Hinge data

Pavonia turns a Hinge data export into a private, interactive report. First, request the export from Hinge; then open the downloaded ZIP in the analyzer. You do not need to give Pavonia your Hinge password.

Request the export in Hinge

  1. Open Hinge while signed in to your account.
  2. Open your profile using the photo icon, then go to Settings.
  3. Find Download My Data.
  4. Choose your country, continue with the data request, confirm your email and submit.

These steps follow Hinge’s official data-request instructions, checked on 30 October 2026. Menu wording can change, so use that page if your app looks different.

Allow time for Hinge to prepare the file. Its current guidance says most requests are ready within 30 days. Once available, the download expires after 48 hours; save your copy before that window closes. Pavonia cannot speed up or retrieve the request for you.

Open the ZIP in the analyzer

  1. Save the export to a device where you can find it again. Keep the original ZIP as your own backup.
  2. Open Pavonia’s Hinge data analyzer and select or drop the ZIP.
  3. Read the import summary. It explains which records were recognized and flags missing or malformed data.
  4. Explore the dashboard and open the report when the analysis is ready.

Start with the original archive. An HTML page saved from an email, a screenshot, or a renamed file is not a replacement for the data export. If your browser unzipped the download automatically, find the original ZIP rather than selecting an individual chat table.

JSON and CSV exports give different information

Older Hinge exports use JSON files, including matches.json. Newer exports can contain folders of CSV tables. Pavonia has importers for both layouts; you do not need to manufacture a missing JSON file.

The file layout also changes what a report can say. A table of conversations you wrote in is not a list of every match, and a missing like outcome is not proof that the like failed. Read the guide to Hinge CSV exports and missing matches.json before comparing results from different formats.

What stays private

The analyzer reads and processes your imported files in your browser. Imported contents, filenames, messages and report values are not sent as analytics. Website usage analytics separately record IP-based traffic and fixed event names, as explained in the traffic privacy notice.

Keep the archive somewhere private. It may contain personal information beyond the fields used in a report. Do not post the ZIP or screenshots of identifiable conversations to ask for help.

If you cannot get or import the file

If the download has expired, request another copy from Hinge. Hinge provides separate instructions for banned and deleted accounts on its data-request help page; Pavonia cannot recover an account or data that Hinge no longer provides.

If the import reports an unsupported format, keep the original file and read the diagnostic message. Export layouts can change, and a successful download does not guarantee that every table or metric is supported. You can return to the homepage and try the demo to see the report before using your own data.
